Dr. Yassine Maazouz is a senior scientist at the RMS Foundation (Switzerland) specialising in calcium‑phosphate bone graft substitutes and biomaterial‑induced osteoinduction. He obtained an MSc from the European School of Materials Science and Engineering (EEIGM, France) and a PhD in Materials Science from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC, Spain), where his dissertation pioneered low‑temperature 3D‑printed hydroxyapatite scaffolds.
In 2013 he co‑founded Mimetis Biomaterials, serving five years as CTO and steering two CE‑marked bone substitutes to market before the company was acquired by Nobel Biocare. Since 2018 he has led in‑vitro and in‑vivo assay development at RMS Foundation, secured more than 750 kCHF in competitive Innosuisse funding, and teaches Applied Biomaterials in the MSc Biomedical Engineering programme at the University of Bern.
His work has yielded 19 peer‑reviewed papers, over 1 100 Google Scholar citations (h‑index 15), invited lectures at World Biomaterials Congress 2020, and two pending patents on osteoinductive calcium‑phosphate formulations.
