Team Leader Bio- & Structural Mechanics, Mateirals Group

Stefan Jakobs has been working at the RMS Foundation since October 2017 as a scientist in the group "Bio- & Structural Mechanics". He is responsible for customer requests in the fields of static, dynamic and other mechanical testing. Due to his apprenticeship as a technical draftsman/designer, which preceded his studies, he combines practical issues with scientific working methods and documentation in his daily work. Together with his colleagues, he develops 3D models for new devices and mechanical tests and plans their execution.

After 5 years of studying mechanical engineering, he received the title Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg in 2017. During his studies he deepened his knowledge in the field of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and gained work experience in different companies with focus on gear construction, development of small turbines and sealing technology. In his master thesis he worked in an industrial project on the automated generation of FE models for the calculation of patient-specific micro movements between cup and acetabulum.
