Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) Overview Chemical Analysis

System: Agilent 7700x ICP-MS

ICP-MS is a very sensitive method, which offers a wide range of applications in inorganic elemental analysis. A total of 70 elements can be quantified simultaneously in trace concentrations in the ppb (part per billion; ng/mL) or sub-ppb range. Samples, which are present as solids or in an organic matrix, are first brought into solution by chemical digestion methods.

Suitable samples: Solids, liquids
Sample specifications: ca. 0.5-1 g (smaller amounts possible)
Range/Options: ppb to ppt
