Scientist, Bioceramics & Biocompatibility Group
Elena Stübi-Bondarenko has been working for the RMS Foundation since April 2016 as a research assistant in the group "Bioceramics & Biocompatibility". She is responsible for customer services in the field of biocompatibility (ISO 10993 series) and systematic literature searches in toxicology for medical devices.
From 2002 to 2007 she completed her master's degree at the National University of Donetsk (Ukraine) with a specialization in "Physiology of Plants and Fungi". From 2011 to 2014 she studied cell and molecular biology at the University of Bern. She holds M.Sc. in Molecular Life Sciences. Her field of research was lung cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. During her Master Thesis she worked on the topic "miR-19b, miR-135b and miR-630 are implicated in the regulation of PI 3-kinase activity, migration and cell cycle control in non-small cell lung cancer".
From 2014 to 2015, she worked for Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in the Drug Discovery Division (“Oncology” and “Heart-Cardiovascular / Fibrosis” departments). Since September 2018, she has been doing a part-time education "Master of Advanced Studies in Toxicology" at the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva.
