The various types of implant materials used in the human body have to cope with a manifold of loadings, and have to be optimised accordingly.

The aim of the RMS research activities is to evaluate and attain new implant materials with customised properties that are as tough as steel, as compatible as titanium, as enduring as cobalt alloys, as diagnose-friendly as polymers and as wear-resistant as ceramics.
